Danielle Martin's Moments
There are no ordinary moments for one of baseball's best mental skills coaches
Our guest this week was going to be Danielle Martin. A mental skills coach for major leaguers, she has helped many of the professionals we see on TV. On December 23rd, Danielle had an unexpected, catastrophic stroke. She was in the top 1% of health at the time.
Not even two months later, Danielle is resting, recovering, and teaching the power of now. She said:
“This situation is terrifying. But, it shows people that anything can happen to us at any time. No moments for granted! I think my mindset saved my life. Doctor’s say they can believe I can walk and talk.”
Although she can’t be with us Wednesday, this 5-minute message to student-athletes encourages “taking responsibility for development”…NOW!

This Week: Concentration
The first of all mental skills is concentration. By using simple grids and habit stacking (pairing focus with a current positive habit) we learn to:
Focus through distractions
Lengthen the attention span
Develop a “check in” to recognize when concentration wains
Improve the ability to stay focused in pressure situations
Bring a pen and your performance journal to “The Class.”
See you Wednesday!
On the adventure,
Greg
