Old Toyota
....and unofficial nominee for 2024's most efficient US nonprofit
The operating budget almost buys this 2013 beauty. Yet, 10,000 learning hours went free to future college students. Thanks to our own Department of Non-Profit Efficiency (DONE, not DOGE), we did it at $1 per learning hour.
This is a thank you to the team, our annual report, and preview of 2025.
500,000 Reps
Naysayers said the content is boring. It is. They said there’s no appetite for mundane micro decision training. But, there is. The old car supported over 9,000 self-starters per week during the fall and spring. 2024 reach came in a variety of ways.
500,000+ learning engagements (all platforms)
342K user views
808 course registrants
9,300 average weekly engagements
Students are taking the road less traveled.
Efficient. Effective
Spending just over $10,000 this year we reached them. Parents saved too, $266,600 in direct value as students engaged in:
20 Individual courses
43 College advising sessions
53 Interactive Prep Notes
162 Tech and digital product donated
Half a million people got “micro-burst” skill and habit creation in 46 states and 48 countries. The “Prep Notes” updates went international.
Lean Meaning at $1/Hour
The average cost for a public school student is $16,280 per year. In student-hours, the equivalent of 14 full-timers went to school at just over $1,000 each. Core skills like goal-setting and communication were built for 4.4% the cost of traditional instruction.
Impactful teachers like SF Giants Chaplain Rigo Lopez donated time, teaching, and tech knowledge. More than virtual training, a company named Works360 put refurbished computers in the hands of foster kids. Each hour of life-skills training, each donated item came from the team of difference-makers.
Parents Say
"I wanted to send my appreciation for the AMAZING Class series. I am so impressed with the way important life skills were made relatable. Most weeks I was listening right along with him and as a parent. I learned valuable takeaways that I can apply in my professional life too.”
“The lessons and information he gained will last a lifetime and for that I am so grateful!”
"Those videos are very helpful, and resourceful. We are watching with our 11yr old boy, with the recording, we can pause and discuss in between.”
“Such a gift for these young athletes.”
2025 Outlook
Additional teachers, an innovative learning platform, and a rebrand are coming. Remaining at $1 per student hour while doubling total student hours to 20,000 ensures more student wins in school and life. This year’s 5 initiatives:
1) The Mission League begins its first year. A 6-team baseball conference built for growth and accountability development will also be among the most competitive in the Bay Area. The league will celebrate academic and athletic effort with weekly awards. Follow standings and stories this season on the newly updated website, coming soon.
2) Jiana Bowie, former D-1 softball pitcher, joins the team to share her mental game expertise. Jiana is a private instructor who instinctively teaches to the whole person. She builds citizens off the field, and animals on it.
3) Sevwins Prep changes its name to Diamond U. This returns to the title of the program that began 25-years ago. Diamond U also reflects core services for baseball and softball players as these sports become increasingly more expensive.
4) A podcast with one of the great American teachers will be shared on Prep Notes. Nate Trosky let baseball be his vehicle to teach life lessons for over 30- years. Not only one of the the nation’s best infield instructors, his “6th Tool Nation” talks uniquely encourage young people to be “the CEO of their lives.” Enjoy Trosky Tuesdays in 2025.
5) Built over 5-years, a daily program for goal-setting, mental skills, and reflection is set to become the most impactful app student-athletes carry in their pockets. It’s bigger than baseball. Tech to change lives.
